Samuel West - Britten in Wartime and My Theatre Matters

Sam is the narrator for Britten in Wartime, which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 this Thursday. The concert will take place at The Hallé; booking details are here.

Sam gave a speech about My Theatre Matters at the Theatre Royal in York last Friday (his Twitter, @exitthelemming). The theatre posted a picture of Sam with the cast of See How They Run on Twitter. He also discussed the campaign with Elly Fiorentini on BBC Radio York - the interview starts at approximately 1 hour 46 minutes (via @ellyfyork).

Last Wednesday, he attended the book launch for Solo, William Boyd's new Bond novel (Getty Images and the Evening Standard).

In September, Sam and his parents Timothy West and Prunella Scales did some filming for a Channel 4 documentary about the Rochdale Canal (Todmorden News).

Samuel West - Poetry App, Votes for Women, For Your Eyes Only and Look, Stranger

The Poetry App was recently updated with videos of Sam reading poems by Philip Larkin (via @thepoetryapp).

He plays Geoffrey Stonor in the Drama on 3 Votes for Women, which will be broadcast 15 September.

The audiobook For Your Eyes Only will be released 26 September (Audiogo).

Sam has replaced Simon Russell Beale for the 10 October performance of "Look, Stranger" at the Oxford Playhouse (via @GemG1985).

Last Sunday, Scene and Heard shared a picture of Sam hosting a quiz fundraiser.

The Choir of London toured Palestine in late August (Sam's Twitter, @exitthelemming). Unfortunately, some of the musicians were unable to perform at one of the concerts because of checkpoint problems (@exitthelemming). Charles Cole's website has some pictures from the tour, including this one of Sam (via @schola_cantorum).

BBC Radio 3 posted a picture of Sam, Ian McMillan, Alexandra Harris and Malcolm Sinclair at Proms Plus Literary (20 August). They discussed the relationship between Britten's words and music.

Sam is currently filming Fleming, a four part drama starring Dominic Cooper as Ian Fleming. He plays Admiral John Godfrey, a source of inspiration for M (BBC Media Centre 1|2). He has shared a couple of pictures from filming on Twitter (@exitthelemming a car|a document).
Mr Selfridge will return for a second series which will be broadcast in 2014 (ITV Press Centre).

Publicity for Hyde Park on Hudson includes interviews with Sam and Olivia Colman from heyuguys, Metro, View London, Front Row, Smooth Radio, Radio Times and Huffington Post. Also, MSN has a clip from the film titled "Meet some Americans"; and the French trailer for the film has slightly different footage to the English trailer.

Rudyard Kipling's Just So stories will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra, read by Sam (@exitthelemming). Excerpts from the stories were recently featured in Just So Science.
A few weeks ago, Sam and Emilia Fox starred in the Afternoon Drama Kathleen and Con.

In his role as the chairman for the National Campaign for the Arts, he has written a post for the Arts Funding Ning about Westminster Council's proposal to cut its entire arts budget and spoken to Labour Peers in the House of Lords about the NCA (@exitthelemming).

Sam, Alan Rickman and Joanna Lumley have recorded video appeals to attract crowd-funding for Trash Cuisine, Belarus Free Theatre's latest production (via @Fenella Dawnay). The deadline for donations is 7 April.
In January, he participated in Eastside Educational Trust's creative team training.
This month, Sam read from George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four at Brixton and West Norwood libraries on National Libraries Day (a picture of Sam at West Norwood is here) and attended an auction raising money for Prostate Cancer UK (via @exitthelemming; a picture from the auction is here).

Dan and Emily Bruni star in Shallow, a short film written and directed by Will Bridges.

His "My Week" for June can be viewed on the Telegraph website and as a scan in the dan-stevens.co.uk gallery.

Dan narrates a new recording of Casino Royale by Ian Fleming which is available for pre-order on 1st August. It will be released on 6th September 2012.
