- A nice mention in The Times:
"I'm not interested in going down the Sienna Miller route," says Hayley Atwell, the feisty new costume drama favourite, who will be the star attraction at the London première on Monday of the new Brideshead Revisited.
Like Keira Knightley, with whom she starred in The Duchess, Atwell, 26, has an upper-crust accent, effortless style and lips that have been described as "pillowy".
Brought up by New Age parents, Atwell rejected Oxford for drama school but while being "deeply ambitious" she fears the intrusion of her privacy now being suffered by Knightley.
Brideshead, in which she plays Julia Flyte, has already been criticised for its "improvements" on Evelyn Waugh’s narrative. But anyone who emerged unscathed from the wreckage of Woody Allen’s Cassandra’s Dream, as Atwell did, is a survivor.
