Cyanide at Five by Pavel Kohout
21 April-2 May, Bondi Pavilion Theatre
Tues–Sats, 8.00pm; matinees Sat 2.30 pm
Tickets: $30/$35

A dark and biting comedy from the one of the most controversial cultural and political figures of Czech history. What begins as an innocent game between two women turns into an intense psychological thriller in which cyanide becomes a factor in deciding where the moral balance lies. Guilt, hate and revenge intertwine as each woman jockeys for the high ground. Zofia versus Irena, Christian versus Jew, the age-old conflict is at the very heart of this intense human drama.
Based on the novella The Wall Between Us by Polish-Jewish writer Tecia Werbowski, Cyanide at Five is contemporary European playwriting at its best.

A flyer for the production is at the Consulate-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney's website.
Tickets can be booked at MCA-TIX.
