Television - In Love with Shakespeare, BBC Radio

Stephen Campbell Moore, John Simm and Sam West will perform speeches from Julius Caesar, Hamlet and Richard II in In Love With Shakespeare, a 30 minute program which will be broadcast on Sky Arts 28 May (via The Stage).

Television - Eternal Law

Sam West, Hattie Morahan, Tobias Menzies, Orla Brady and Ukweli Roach star in Eternal Law for ITV. Ashley Pharoah and Matthew Graham wrote the six part series; Adrian Shergold will direct. It began filming today in York (Sam's Twitter, @exitthelemming 1|2|3). A press release will be issued later today (Monastic Productions' Twitter, @MonasticProds).

Sam and The Berry Theatre have shared pictures from the theatre's gala opening, which was last Thursday. The Theatres Trust has a text copy of his speech.

David Colbran has posted pictures of Sam and his dad Timothy West performing an excerpt from The Voysey Inheritance by Harley Granville Barker from the 26 March anti cuts march (via @falseecon).

Ben Hur will be repeated on BBC Radio 4 Extra next week, 18-21 April.

The Private Life of an Easter Masterpiece "The Taking of Christ" will be rebroadcast on ABC1 at 2.10pm on Friday 22 April.

Samuel West. Radio - Lost Voices. Scene & Heard. Arts funding. Berry Theatre opening gala.

Sam is the reader for an episode of Lost Voices about Herbert Read - it will be broadcast next Sunday on BBC Radio 4 at 4.30pm.

Scene & Heard has shared pictures of Sam, Tom Goodman-Hill, Hugh Bonneville and other patrons attending a performance of Twist and Turn.

On Friday morning, Sam appeared on BBC Breakfast to talk about cuts to arts funding (his Twitter, @exitthelemming). Afterwards, he went to Downing St to deliver an anti-cuts letter, with Patrick Stewart, Penelope Wilton, Malcolm Sinclair, Maxine Peake and Christine Payne (video from BBC News, the Press Association, Sam's live tweeting 1|2|3).

The previous evening, Sam gave a speech at the Berry Theatre opening gala (pre event tweets from @HiccupTheatre, @exitthelemming). Security guards danced during the gala! (live tweeted by Sam). @PointEastleigh and @HiccupTheatre complimented him on his "inspirational" and "inspiring" speech, which was about the importance of theatres in people's lives (@TheatresTrust). @theberrytheatre reflected on the event as "a night we won't forget"; Sam has described the theatre as "a ray of hope in dark times."

Andrea Riseborough and Clive Owen will star in Shadow Dancer, an IRA thriller directed by James Marsh.

Samuel West. Radio - Money. Narration - Purbeck Art Weeks.

Sam has confirmed that his radio directorial debut (previous posts 1|2|3) is an adaptation of Money by Edward Bulwer Lytton which will be broadcast 19 June on BBC Radio 3 (his Twitter, @exitthelemming).

He will read Lorca poems and Tschaikovsky letters at the concluding concert (5 June) of the Purbeck Art Weeks.
